Remedial Massage

Qualified and experienced remedial massage therapists. Health funds rebates available.

What Is Remedial Massage?

Remedial massage is a therapeutic technique that targets the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues in the body. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to address areas of chronic pain, muscle tension, and adhesions.

Our remedial massage therapists will work with the layers of your body tissues in the most effective and energy efficient way possible. Your feedback during the massage session will assist our massage therapists to work within your parameters of comfort.

Unlike traditional massage, which focuses on relaxation and superficial muscles, deep tissue massage aims to loosen up scar tissue and improve overall muscle function.

This method is particularly beneficial for individuals suffering from repetitive strain injuries, postural problems, or lingering pain from past injuries. Through careful working on the deeper muscle layers, deep tissue massage can enhance flexibility, promote faster healing, and provide long-lasting relief from muscle pain and stiffness.

How Does Remedial Massage Help?

Remedial massage can help to reduce pain, discomfort and tension by releasing the pressure on muscles, tendons and ligaments and assist the body’s natural healing process.

The pressure applied in remedial massage can either be strong and deep or gentle and shallow, depending on the problem.

What are the benefits of remedial massage?

Remedial massage can stimulate blood flow, help loosen up joints, and assist tissue healing process.   It can also reduce stress, improve mood and mental health.

Who can benefit from remedial massage?

Anyone who experiences pain or tension in the muscles, which is stress, work, pregnancy, leisure or sports related, remedial massage can be beneficial.

What does a remedial massage involve?

We offer 60 minutes, 90 minutes and 45 minutes of remedial massage appointments.

Before the massage begins, you will be asked to lie on a massage table and you will be covered with towels to protect your privacy and to keep you warm.

You are encouraged to provide feedback to your remedial massage therapist about how much pressure and depth of the massage you prefer.
