We Use Advanced Physiotherapy Techniques and Equipment To Assist You

MANUAL THERAPY

We use hands on technique to mobilise / enhance normal movement patterns to ensure that you regain your mobility with minimal pain or discomfort.

By applying appropriate forces manually, normal proprioceptive (joint position sense) and mechanoreceptor activity can be re-established, thereby restoring normal motor responses.

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY

We use Shockwave Therapy to help you reduce pain, regain mobility.  Shockwave Therapy has mechanical and cellular impacts on tissues regeneration and pain management through cavitation bubbles, acoustic micro streaming, and hyper-vascularity that can directly affect tissue calcifications, and modulate cell activity.  It can break down tight surgical scar tissue across the joint which can potentially limit joint mobility.

Shockwave Therapy generates high energy sound waves and induces neovascularisation at the tendon-bone junction and the release of growth factors such as eNOS (endothelial nitric oxide synthase), VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) and PCNA (proliferating cell antinuclear antigen).

As a result, these lead to improved blood supply, an increase in cell proliferation and consequently to the tissue regeneration of tendons and bones for tissue repair.

The shockwaves reduce pain partly through the creation of substance P and the hyperstimulation of small diameter pain fibres which in turn activate a serotoninergic system that regulates the transmission of pain stimuli and therefore increase the patient’s pain tolerance.

POSTURE CORRECTION

We ensure that you regain your mobility without compromising on your normal posture.  It is important to be able to walk/ move in a good posture to minimise future discomfort or compensatory movements.

EXERCISE THERAPY

We devise individualised exercise program to regain your strength, mobility and balance.  We ensure that you continue this specific exercise program at home to maximise your treatment outcomes.
